The striking and vibrant green color of Malachite, is a result of copper hydroxyl carbonate. Like many other crystals, Malachite has several different and unique growth patterns that crystalizes in the monoclinic crystal system, most often in the forms of botryoidal, fibrous and stalagmitic masses in deep underground fractures or spaces.
